Hungary - National Competitiveness Council

In order to ensure an institutionalized, professional forum for dialogue on the developments of competitiveness, the Hungarian Government decided in 2016 to set up the National Competitiveness Council (NCC).

The NCC is a consultative body consisting of renowned members of scientific and economic life whose aim is to provide economic analysis and policy advice for the Government to address competitiveness related policy challenges.

The NCC is chaired by the minister of finance. The members of the Council are highly esteemed individuals from business, academia and government with a solid background in various aspects of competitiveness. Analytical background (Secretariat) of the Council is provided by the Ministry of Finance, as well as the institutions represented by the members. The members of the NCC meet three to four times during the spring and autumn session to discuss reports prepared by the Secretariat.
