Description
The design depicts in the centre the portraits of the two Italian judges Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino, inspired by a picture of Tony Gentile. Above, the arc-shaped inscription “FALCONE – BORSELLINO”, underneath the dates “1992 2022”, with the acronym of the Italian Republic “RI” in between; on the right, “R”, identifying the Mint of Rome; on the left, “VdS”, initials of the designer Valerio de Seta.
The coin’s outer ring depicts the 12 stars of the European flag.
