The 500th anniversary of the first publication containing words in Estonian and the start of the Estonian literary language
Description
The centre of the coin presents a composition of books forming the capital letter "E", as these books symbolise the tradition of the Estonian written language; the text "EESTI RAAMAT 500", which means "500 years of books in Estonian"; and the year 1525, which is the date of the first publication of a book in Estonian. The design also shows the year of issue “2025”.
The coin’s outer ring depicts the 12 stars of the European flag.
