Description
The coin commemorates the 200th anniversary of the creation of the Botanical Garden in Ljubljana, the oldest scientific and cultural institution in Slovenia. The inner part of the coin depicts the ‘hladnikia’ (Hladnikia pastinacifolia), a rare plant endemic to Slovenia which is named after Franc Hladnik, its discoverer and the founder of Ljubljana's Botanical Garden (date of issue: May 2010).
