Lithuania

Lithuania’s euro coins show the coat of arms of the Republic of Lithuania, Vytis, the country of issuance "LIETUVA" and the year of issuance "2015".

The differences in design consist of inserted artistic elements – lines – in the background of the stars in two of the three designs: the laying of lines in the vertical position as in 1 and 2 euro coins and the horizontal position as in 10, 20 and 50 euro cent. The background of stars in the design of the 1, 2 and 5 euro cent is plain.

The coin's outer ring depicts the 12 stars of the European flag. They were designed by the sculptor Antanas Žukauskas.

The edge-lettering of the 2-euro coin bears the inscription "LAISVĖ * VIENYBĖ * GEROVĖ *", meaning Liberty-Solidarity-Prosperity."
