What the Commission is doing
The European Commission closely follows and analyses economic developments around the world to inform its policy decisions and economic forecasts. The Commission's winter, spring and autumn economic forecasts include forecasts for non-EU economies.
The Commission also meets regularly with the national authorities of countries hoping to join the EU and partner countries that receive aid through macro-financial assistance to discuss their progress and to assist in defining economic policies.
Every quarter, the Commission publishes an overview of economic developments in EU candidate and potential EU candidate countries.
