Description

This paper provides an overview of the state of play of the EU national productivity boards.

Highlights:

  • The paper takes stock of progress made by Member States in setting up National Productivity Boards (NPBs) relative to the 2016 Council recommendation on NPBs and additional criteria found in the NPB literature.
  • NPBs would benefit from stronger provisions to guarantee independence and adequate resources and from practices boosting their participation in domestic policy making.
