This report investigates and assesses the investment perspectives in the electricity markets of the European Union in view of the latest climate and energy policy ambitions. The substantial investment in low carbon technologies that will be needed to achieve these ambitions will have to be supported by an economic and institutional framework capable of facilitating the transition.
